How far is Los Sueños Resort and Marina from the San José Airport?
The resort is located on the Central Pacific Coast. The drive from the airport is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes depending on traffic conditions. Liberia Airport is located to the North and is approximately 3 hours driving distance.
If I drive myself what are the directions?
From the airport, if you were to walk out of the terminal, you will see Highway 1 directly in front of you. Make a mental note that Los Sueños is to the left and San Jose is to the right. After picking up your rental car get on that highway.
After approx. 5 miles (8 km) you will see a large factory DOS PINOS on the left hand side. Take the next exit which has signs reading Orotina and Jaco
After 2.6 miles (4 km) you need to exit on Highway 27 (toll road) toward Caldera.
Once on the highway drive for 16.5 miles (27km). You will pass two toll booths. After the second toll booth immediately take the exit with signs for Jaco.
From now it is easy. Stay on the main road following the signs to Jaco for 21 miles (34km). Shortly before you get to Jaco you will see on the right hand side a large shopping center called Plaza Herradura. Make are right turn. You will see the Los Sueños entrance on the left hand side after 1 km.
Is there a complimentary shuttle service?
There is no complimentary shuttle service but several service providers offer transportation from and to both airports in modern air-conditioned minivans. You may contact rich-coast-connections.com for a quote.
How do I get around once I am there?
National Rental Car has an office located in the Marina Village. In the Resort everything is within walking distance but golf carts are available for rent at GatoGordoGolfCartLS.
What is the currency in Costa Rica?
The currency in Costa Rica is the Colon. The exchange rate varies but as a rule of thumb 1 US Dollar equals approximately 600 Colones.
Are US Dollars and credit cards accepted?
US Dollars and credit cards are widely accepted in Los Sueños and throughout Costa Rica.
Is there a grocery store?
There is a deli style minimarket located in the resort and only 5 driving minutes you can find a large American style supermarket. The Beach Town of Jaco is 4 miles away and also offers a large variety of supermarkets and other stores.
Are there medical services?
Inside the resort is a 24/7 medical facility and pharmacy providing general medical services.
Is there Internet Service?
There are free hotspots throughout the resort.
Where can I buy a SIM CARD?
There are several counters inside the airport terminal and one at baggage claims from KOLBI which is the main cell phone provider in Costa Rica.
